Peter and I each had a flight lesson today. This was a gift for his adoption day, but it also served as an introduction to see if we would like flight training. I absolutely loved it! It was amazing. I thought I would be more nervous, and I was pretty nervous - especially when the instructor said I was going to control the wheel and the climb during take off. Yikes! But it was a lot of fun. I got to keep some measure of control over the plane the entire time. We climbed up to 3500 feet and did a few turns. We were up for about 30 minutes before turning around and landing.

I have also added pictures from Christmas in downtown Austin.  It was a lot of fun being so close to the lake, the Zilker tree, and some really good food . . . all walking distance from the room.

I have uploaded some pictures from Peter's and my visit to El Paso last month.  We took the tram up to the moutain.  It was a little chilly, but oh what a view!

Peter was on World News with Charles Gibson last week. This comments were recorded the previous week, and we were not sure when it was going to air. We were able to get a copy from his office as we were out of town last week.

Sometimes, living in a neighborhood with lots of trees is not a good thing. We finally got some well needed rain this afternoon, but more fell than rain. The backyard neighbor has a huge tree that offers much shade in our backyard, and after the rain today, a large branch from his tree snapped off and fell into our yard. I guess there is a price to pay . . .

Okay . . . at long last, here are the pictures from our trip to California. We started our trip in Aneheim and caught the train to San Francisco. That was so impressive! I love train travel - the dining car, the observation car, etc. That was day one. Day two was San Francisco. I love San Francisco - cable cars, China Town, Union Square, great food! Finally, day three was Sonoma - wineries and more wineries!

I finished putting in a new stereo in the Mustang last night. I started this project a couple weeks ago, and I have been working on it piece by piece.

Let me start by giving you some of the background first. Just north of Austin is a small race track that opens up the track every Friday night to anyone interested in coming. It is called a Test 'n Tune where you can go and run your car along the track if you want to see how fast she is. You can even race others if you want.
